I love colours and I love to express my thoughts and experiences through colours. My goal for each painting is to capture the beauty of human life and the surrounding nature. I want my paintings to draw you in and fill your life with love, positivity and optimism every single time you look at them. Life is beautiful!
Vinay Sane
Artist Biography
VINAY SANE, b. 1963
Born in Mumbai (formerly called Bombay), India, in 1963, Vinay Sane is a self-taught artist. Vinay holds a bachelor's and a master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. After working in the electronics industry for about 20 years, Vinay decided to give in to the lure of colours.
Painting is Vinay’s calling in life – he eats, drinks, breathes colours! It is embedded in his DNA!
Vinay’s work is deeply inspired by the serene landscapes he has experienced, particularly the tranquil banks of the Krishna River near his ancestral home in Wai, Maharashtra, INDIA. He often retreats there and finds peace and inspiration. The spiritual energy of the Himalayas also profoundly influences the themes in his paintings.
Vinay works on multiple platforms. One platform is abstractive and impressionist landscapes. He takes inspiration from nature and depicts it in his own way, riding on the emotions of love and hope.
The second platform is pure-play abstracts. He works on fundamental emotions such as hunger, love, peace and bliss and comes up with his own interpretation of these emotions.
The third platform is about Sanskrit language shlokas and the deep meaning of these shlokas. This platform is currently in its nascent phase.
Vinay uses Palette knives, flat brushes, edges-smoothening and layer-smearing cloths. At times, he uses masking fluid too. Vinay’s work is influenced and inspired by stalwarts in the art field, viz: Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Rembrandt, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp, Carlo Carrà, Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro, René Magritte, Wassily Kandinsky, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Bhalchandra Mandke, Sadhana Raddi, Jehangir Sabavala and Amrita Sher-Gil, to name a few.
